Exodus in the Bible can teach us many life lessons. Moses demonstrates that we can not run from our problems. God still called him back to Egypt to free his people. Moses also tried to argue with God, but God continued to give him a reason to serve. God gives all of us the ability to serve Him and others with our gifts. We can learn so much from Moses to apply to our own lives.
A Servant Like Moses
Personally, I have always loved the story of Moses. I resonate with an inability to speak eloquently. As a kid, I was pretty shy, and I never really felt comfortable with my words. While I am now fairly outgoing, I still feel like I get tongue-tied when it comes to matters of importance. Yet, if God could use Moses to free His people, He can certainly use us in some capacity to help others.
Exodus in the Bible
How do you teach your students about the book of Exodus? Personally, I love my project-based learning unit that creates a family vacation out of the book of Exodus. It can be challenging to meet the needs of different levels of students. I always have one student who has never really learned about the Bible, but most of my students have studied Exodus since preschool. I differentiate by giving more knowledgeable students no-prep packets or Google Slides activities to work on while new students learn about the hardships of God’s people. These packets and slides are also great for a substitute or students on quarantine. If you teach younger students, I can’t wait to unveil Exodus Centers and Exodus Bible Lessons for Kindergarten.
