Advent is a very busy time of the year, and it has taken me years to really be able to enjoy this season. I now make sure that my student gifts for parents, gifts for them, and all other classroom activities are done before Thanksgiving. My Christmas shopping for my family is complete with the presents under the tree before Thanksgiving break. It might seem very early, but, as someone who travels for both holidays, this makes it possible to actually celebrate and enjoy the season.
