Lent is a season of preparation for Easter and an important time to remember why Jesus died for us. It’s a season when we spend extra time reflecting on the depths of God’s love for us and remembering our need to turn from sin. Activities like making crafts, writing prayers, and practicing service help kids understand this concept in their own way.
Spring Musical Season
Lent is a time of somber faith and remembrance, but it is also the season when our drama team begins practicing the spring musical. At the end of March, we start daily practices to pull together a spectacular show of song, dance, and story with our entire school. It is a lot of work (that I really owe all to two of my co-workers), but it is one of the most beautiful moments of our school year. It is an excellent opportunity to witness to our families and share the love of Christ.
Lent Activities for Kids
Visual lessons are excellent activities for children to understand Lent. These visual stories help students reflect on the meaning of Lent and understand how it fits into the overall story of their faith. You can help them understand what it means not only in terms of giving up things, but also in terms of growing closer to God through service, love, and contemplation. This gives them the opportunity to contemplate the act of sacrifice and build a deeper connection with The Almighty.
