The story of the nativity tells us the true meaning of Christmas. In a world of elves and presents, it can be a challenge to find a way to remind kids of the real story about Christmas. (Not that matching pajamas and frosted cookies aren’t a great part of the Christmas fun.) Nevertheless, how can we make sure that students are learning about the story of the redemption of their Savior?
Merry Christmas
Each year, the teachers at my school give the gift of a free evening to the parents. The kids come for pizza, games, crafts, stories, and a movie. It has become one of my favorite events to kick off the season. Almost every kid in the school comes, and the event has such a family feel to it.
Story of the Nativity Lesson Plans
Christmas can become such a busy time of the year. Students are often at Christmas program practice for most of December. If you are looking for something for students to work on in the pews while they wait or a quick activity in the last few days before break, there are many great ideas you could use. Pew activities might include no-prep packets, Google slides, or a graphic novel. Short lessons to wrap up the year comprise of a mini-book, flipbook, craftivity, lapbook, or sort and match activities. As an added bonus, you might need a ready-to-print chapel for your story of the Nativity lesson plans.
