Lutheran Schools Week ideas will become a part of your staff meeting agenda soon. Did you know that students perform better academically because of school spirit week? In addition, students enjoy school more because of National Lutheran Schools Week. Finally, students develop meaningful and connected relationships with other students because of spirit activities. Three great reasons to make it a part of your year!
NLSW During Covid
Last year, National Lutheran School Week was the first time our students were able to leave campus for a field trip. On Friday, our grades 4-8 students normally go bowling as a spirit activity. However, the movie theaters were offering a great deal to rent out the theater space for about $5 per kid. We all went to a couple of movies and were socially distant, enjoyed snacks, and felt that great sense of normalcy that the kids needed.
Lutheran Schools Week Ideas
Here is to hoping that this NLSW is a little more normal for us! This year’s In All Things theme has a creation vibe to it. Students have a writing activity to talk about their faith and make a self-portrait for a bulletin board. There are seven activities for a family night or centers during the school day. It also includes posters to hang in the pews and a craft to give to nursing home residents. In addition, I created an early childhood version this year with special projects for younger students.
If you are looking for these ready-to-print resources for early childhood or the K-8 version, you can find them in my store.
