Reformation theology can seem outdated and irrelevant to your non-Lutheran students. However, the Reformation points us back to the vital role of Scripture in the church. It encourages us to get back into reading the Word to educate ourselves about the truths found in the Bible. How can you help your students understand the value of the Reformation?
Bible Study Time
This summer, I learned how to study Scripture in a way that I haven’t done in a while. When school is in session and my days are filled with lessons and work on this business, my Bible study time is often a short passage and a quick devotion that I read in five minutes while getting in some water for the day. During the summer, I take the time to really spend time in the Word and soak in the moments. Bonnie from Teachers in the Word has some of my favorite summer teacher Bible studies. She did a set of Instagram stories that demonstrated how she studied Scriptures, and I loved it. I have done it with several of the weekly Scripture readings from church. It was such a good refresher to my Bible study skills!
Reformation Theology for Students
Are you looking for some new options to teach the Reformation to your students? Teachers love the no-prep packets that teach students about several aspects of Martin Luther and his works. The mini books and flip books make quick and easy lessons to squeeze into your busy schedule. There is a craftivity to decorate your bulletin board or hallways. I personally love Luther on the Ledge.
