What do you teach in the ten commandments for kids? They have so many lessons for us to learn. Have you ever thought about the timing of God’s gift of the ten commandments? He didn’t give them to the enslaved people in Egypt while they were broken people. God gave them to the delivered people as He gave them a new life. He wanted to provide them with a safe and loving structure within the boundaries of these commands. Have you also noticed that many of the commandments focus on our relationships with others? They are not individual goals that make us better people, but rather, improve the way that we treat God, our friends, our families, and our communities.
The Greatest Gift
I have always loved that the commandments are more than just laws for us. They are also gifts that provide us with the love and protection of a heavenly Father. The ten commandments give us a guide to living in harmony with others. They teach us the priorities of putting God first in our lives. Ultimately, they come with the promise of unending mercy and grace through Jesus. What better gift can we receive?
