Have your students ever taken a spiritual gifts test? When students understand their spiritual gifts, they are better prepared to take on roles within the church as adults. Students are able to fulfill their responsibilities as members of the body of Christ. While God gifts us all differently, every one of us has been given a gift to serve and support the mission to go and make disciples.
When to Identify Gifts
I was probably well into high school or college before I took a spiritual gifts test. Yet, students of a much younger age are able to understand what spiritual gifts are and begin to discern the gifts that God has given them. I think that it is important to take the time to explain these gifts to students and give them an opportunity to identify their gifts.
Spiritual Gifts Test for Students
I first taught about spiritual gifts within my mission trip project-based learning unit. My students took a spiritual gifts test at the beginning of the project before they chose the mission trip that they would like to plan and attend. While this resource is geared towards fifth graders, I love this new resource for third grade! The spiritual gifts centers help students identify and understand these concepts. I find that to be so incredibly powerful to teach spiritual gifts to students at an age where they are still highly engaged and eager to please in the learning process. This can stick with them as they grow and are more capable of taking on bigger service opportunities.
