Christmas activities for kids fill our classrooms right up to the last minute before the break. What types of lessons do your students learn as they study the nativity? The story of Jesus’ birth teaches us about the humility of our Lord and Savior. He came into this world in the same way that He walked the earth. We learn that God’s ways are not our ways. There is nothing about the role of Joseph, Mary, or the virgin birth that is considered a traditional human family. Finally, God teaches us that, just like the shepherds, it is easy to come to Him. Jesus came to save us all.
Baking Christmas Cookies
As my grandparents got older, I would go to their house to help them make Christmas cookies. There were old-fashioned date cookies covered in cornflakes and topped with cherries. We also made classics like frosted sugar cookies and peanut butter blossoms. These are some of my favorite memories with them from when I was a young adult.
Christmas Activities for Kids
Do you need some Christmas activities for kids to teach them about the story of Jesus’ birth? Are you looking for short or long activities? If your students need full units, there are no prep packets or Google Slides resources for multiple grade levels. If you are interested in quick lessons, there are many options for different grades. Preschool students have a sort-and-match center resource. Elementary students can make a mini book, a flip book, or a craftivity. If you are looking for a chapel resource about the nativity, there is a great option for the upper elementary. Finally, there is a graphic novel resource that works well for middle school students.
