The Three Best Ways to Learn About the Lutheran Faith

Teach by Faith is run by lifelong Lutherans. You probably know this if you have used any of our resources or kept track of our blog posts. Are you curious about our faith? The Lutheran church has faithfully interpreted God’s Word and told his story of love and forgiveness since the Reformation. But really, our church is older than that, for we tell the same story that the church has always told. God’s truth doesn’t change. If you’d like to learn more about our church or have friends that are interested, read on!

Chat With a Friend

The best thing to do if you’re interested in the Lutheran faith is to talk to a Lutheran! If no Lutherans are available to you, visit a Lutheran church on Sunday morning. You’ll be able to learn a lot from hearing the liturgy, hymns, sermon and maybe chatting with the pastor. If you’d like to learn from the comfort of your own home, find a copy of Luther’s Small Catechism to read. It beautifully and simply explains Lutheran doctrine in a short but powerful book.

Great Curriculum!

If you’re teaching in a Lutheran school, you’re helping to raise little Lutherans! Sometimes the curriculum used in Lutheran schools, while Christian, is not written from a Lutheran perspective. But fortunately you have a great resource available to you that is Lutheran from top to bottom! Teach by Faith offers a wonderful third grade curriculum that introduces Lutheran doctrine with fun activities and engaging projects. It covers topics like, the Sacraments, prayer, evangelism, worship and much more. Your students will memorize Scripture and catechism passages, and dive into the roots of Lutheranism with a unit on the Reformation.
