TAs our students get older, there are more and more people and things trying to get their attention. Friends, sports activities, social media and the pressures of middle school all fight to be top dog in our middle schoolers’ lives. And it can be hard for them to remember that that top spot is already taken. Before they are a member of a sports team, a friend, a contributor to social media, or even a family member, they are a Christian. They’re relationship with God should be the most important aspect of their lives. Teach them to make studying Scripture a daily habit.

4 Ideas for a study of Scripture
If you’re looking for ways to help your students in this worthy endeavor, teach them to read and study Scripture! Get into the text during religion class and show them how it applies to their lives and tells the story of God’s love for them. Encourage them to attend Sunday morning Bible class or youth group at their church. Find a mid-week Bible study group to promote in your class. If one doesn’t exist at your church, perhaps God is leading you to start one. Teach you students to pray for each other and make time each day for personal devotions.
Curriculum to Help
Though we may not have resources for all those ideas, we’ve got the religion class covered! This sixth grade curriculum will take your students on a journey into the Old Testament with engaging Bible Study worksheets that teach students how to take notes and apply God’s truth to their lives. They will read the entire Old Testament throughout the year with a special units on the Reformation and other significant days on the liturgical calendar.
