Do you have a favorite book? I’ve always loved reading and even with a busy schedule I try to have a book next to my bed for a few quick pages before I fall asleep. I’ll read almost anything, but my favorites are those that build a story in which I can imagine myself as a character. As humans we were made to belong to something bigger than ourselves. We are a part of God’s creation, and we are a part of his story. Knowing your place in his story gives your life meaning, purpose and joy.

NLSW 2026
As Lutheran School teachers we are teaching our students their place in God’s story. By telling them their new identity in baptism, they learn that they are God’s child. When we teach them the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection, they learn that they are forgiven and put back into a right relationship with him. The story of Adam and Eve teaches them that they are a part of creation and have the responsibility of caring for it. When they hear the promise of resurrection they are filled with the hope of the new creation and life forever with Jesus. That is the power of a Lutheran school! We get to tell God’s story every day and show our children how they are a part of it.

Second, check out a mini book that is written specifically for early childhood and Kindergarten. Finally, this Flip Book helps to teach students what Lutheran Schools are all about with a great emphasis on serving others
