If I think about it, I can come up with the list of the fruit of the Spirit I learned along ago in Sunday School or Vacation Bible School. If I sing the song to myself I can even come up with them in the correct order which says something about the power of learning Bible songs! But just knowing the list is not enough if we’re not actively making these qualities a part of who we are as Christians. They aren’t suggestions. The Fruit of the Spirit is a description of the life of a follower of Jesus.

5 Fun Ideas!
How can you help your students learn to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled? First of all, start by pointing out examples of these qualities when you see them playing out in the classroom. Students love to be recognized for good work! Second, pick a fruit of the week and decide as a class on a specific way that you will put that quality into action. Kindly make a card for your principal. Patiently put away toys without complaining. Joyfully sing extra loudly in chapel. Thirdly, split the class into nine groups and assign each of them a fruit to illustrate. Put them up on a bulletin board in the hallways. Fourth, make fruit salad together as a class with nine different fruits. Discuss the fruit of the spirit as you enjoy your snack!
Fruit of the Spirit Resources
Finally, try this Fruit of the Spirit Google Drive unit for third and fourth grade. It introduces the qualities mentioned in Galatians in a unique and engaging way. Students will be given time for personal prayer as well as a chance to interact with relevant passages and videos. They’ll also be able to summarize what they have learned by designing a social media post about the fruit of the Spirit.
