Lutheran schools have been around since the 1800s when the founding members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod arrived in America from Germany. But really, education has been a part of our church body much longer than that. Luther himself was a great champion of education and had much to say for Christian parents making sure their children were brought up to be good citizens who were able to help and support those around them.

Reason for the Church Education System
But is a quality education the only reason to send our children to Lutheran schools? By no means! Lutheran schools not only raise good citizens but also faithful disciples of Jesus. When a child is baptized, the parents promise to raise that child to know and fear God. Lutheran schools can help with this by teaching children to view the world from a Christian perspective. Children learn that they are part of God’s story which gives meaning and purpose to their lives and a sure and certain hope for the future. In an age where the world is struggling to find meaning, Lutheran schools can provide a beacon of hope.
