Exciting All Saints’ Day Escape Room for Christian Classrooms

October is a strange month to go shopping. You can be heading down an aisle filled with witches, goblins, enormous skeletons and werewolves that are frightening even in the daylight. But when you turn the corner, you are accosted with santas, red-nosed reindeer, wrapping paper and bows. It feels rather like the stores are telling us to emulate the relay team members waiting for the baton hand off in a track meet. Start running before the baton is in your hand because if you don’t get a head start during Halloween then there is no chance you will be ready for the Christmas stress waiting for you after the 31st!

Forgotten Holiday

But this year, let’s resist that urge to dust off the inflatable singing snowmen until after November 1st. Remember, one of the most beautiful church celebrations takes place the day after Halloween. I’m talking about All Saints’ Day of course! On this day Christians remember all who have gone before us in the faith and the glorious promise of resurrection that waits for us on the Last Day. It is a chance to talk about how the church is bigger than just a building or even a synod but includes people from all times and nations that have been called by Christ.

Escape on All Saints’ Day

If you would like to explore this wonderful celebration with your students, this All Saints’ Day Escape Room might be just what you’re looking for! It is geared toward upper elementary but even middle schoolers will enjoy it as a fun way to dig into God’s Word and see what he has to say about All Saint’s Day and our hope for the resurrection.
