The Importance of Lutheran Schools

I am proud to state that I am a product of Lutheran schools. Outside of my kindergarten year and my master’s work, I have spent my whole life in Lutheran schools. However, I have also been privileged to attend school with many different types of people. Lutheran schools never cease to amaze me in their ability to touch the lives of children and families. After all, students in Lutheran schools have the opportunity to learn about Jesus for at least 35 hours a week.

There are many people that have gone into the building of Lutheran schools over the years. Parents, teachers, administrators, pastors, and congregational members all give of their gifts and talents for the benefit of children. During one of my first lessons as a teacher, a little girl in my class raised her hand during the lesson of the fall into sin and stated, “Who are Adam and Eve?” I think back to another little boy who asked why that man was on the cross. Over the years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to share my faith with many young children.

I am putting the same question to you. What do you love about your Lutheran school?
