All Saints Day activities are different in the Catholic and Lutheran churches. While there are many Catholic resources available, it was difficult to find the Lutheran beliefs regarding All Saints Day. This is an important holy day in both churches. However, Lutherans remember all of our loved ones as saints. We do not focus on certain saints.
Remembering Loved Ones
As a child, I only remember this as a holy day that followed Reformation. Eventually, I learned that it celebrated people who had gone to heaven. Today, it is a reminder of my grandfathers who found faith to be so important in their lives. It is also a promise that we all have been offered the gift of eternal life one day.
