Ash Wednesday activity lessons are an impactful way to teach students about one of the milestones in Jesus’ ministry. It reminds us of our own mortality. It is a special opportunity to remind students that this life is short, but we have the hope of heaven because of Jesus Christ.
Ash Wednesday in Middle School
I love using sketch notes with middle school students. They are engaging and fun for kids. Middle school kids love to take out the markers and be a kid again. Finally, it is so important to take time to teach them about Ash Wednesday.
A Lesson for Your Classroom
Your lesson plan can start with slides about Ash Wednesday. Students can take notes on information about Ash Wednesday. Then, they can write about the origin of the ashes used on that day. They can copy verses that reference ashes in the Bible. Finally, they can add their own designs and coloring to make the notes their own.
If you are looking for a ready-to-print Ash Wednesday activity using sketch notes, you can find them in my store.
