The days of creation remind us that God is always with us in the beautiful world that He created. We are able to clearly see God in the unique details of His creation. In addition, God demonstrates his creativity in our world through the design of people, animals, and the landscape he made.
Finding Beauty in Daily Life
It took me a while to regularly recognize the artistry of God in the world that I saw daily. When I moved to Arizona for my first teaching Call, the southern part of the Rocky Mountains left me in awe daily. It was then that I began to notice not only the shimmering Great Lakes of Michigan but the simplicity of the farm country that I grew up in. Today, I still marvel at the intelligence God provided for man to turn a river into a 70-mile lake with a coastline the length of California. I am thankful for the opportunity to drive past that on my work each day.
Days of Creation for Kids
How can you teach your students about the beginning of the world? If you are a kindergarten teacher, there are five Bible activities to go along with the story of creation. There is a sorting activity in the Genesis centers for second graders, and it’s free in my store! Fourth-grade students can draw the days of creation in a free activity on my blog. This story can also be found in the no-prep packets for early childhood to sixth grade as well as the Google slides for third to sixth grade.
If you are looking for these ready-to-use resources for your students, check them out in my store.
