Develop Outstanding Classrooms with the 10 Commandments

When I was earning my teaching degrees, classroom management was a big part of the discussion in the education courses I took. How do you manage an unruly student? How do you set expectations for your students? What rules do you enforce and why? For a non-Christian those may be some difficult questions to answer, but Christians have a bit easier of a time. We already have the guidebook! God gave us a set of rules to follow in the ten commandments.

God’s Will for the Classroom

God’s rules were not meant to be hard, restrictive punishments but rather they show God’s children what it means to live as his creatures. When we follow his will for our lives, things tend to work out a bit better. When our classrooms are designed to follow God’s rules, our days run a bit more smoothly. We should teacher our students to honor and respect their authorities (the 4th commandment). They should learn to show love to each other and help each other take care of his possessions (the 5th and 7th commandment. We should be teaching our students to use their words to build each other up instead of tear each other down (the 8th commandment). Each of the commandments plays an important role in the classroom.
