October, for many people, is the highlight of the year! Although I am more of a summer person myself, I can see the appeal. The weather is crisp and cool, the sky is a special shade of blue. Gorgeous colors adorn the trees and there is a promise of excitement in the air as Halloween kicks off the holiday season…or is it Reformation? For lifelong Lutherans, the month of October tends to conjure up images of monks, thunderstorms and Bibles just as easily as ghosts and witches. What an amazing tradition to pass on to our students!

Teaching the Reformation
But at times resurrecting the same old worksheets and books year after year to teach the story of Martin Luther can get a bit old. Perhaps your hand-outs have seen better days, and your books are looking a bit shabby, and it is time to try something new this year! CPH offers many new resources for teaching the catechism to young students which are definitely worth checking out. Teach by Faith also offers a whole collection of Reformation resources for all grade levels from worksheets and stories to escape rooms and mini books.
New Chapel Skits!
Brand new this year is a set of chapel skits all based on Reformation themes! If you are one of the lucky teachers to be assigned October chapel, these ready-to-go resources are just what you need. They also make fun reader’s theatre activities for supplementing Reformation lessons. You’ll find skits on the life of Martin Luther, Luther’s Seal, salvation by grace alone and much more!
If you are looking for these ready-to-use resources for your students, check them out in my store.
