Jesus is sometimes called the “hinge of history” meaning that everything that came before Christ pointed to his coming, and everything that comes after points back to him because the death and resurrection of Jesus changed the world. So, nothing will ever be the same. The New Testament books contain the single most important story you can ever tell you students because it tells them who they are and how they relate to the rest of the world. There are so many awesome ways to dive into the New Testament in your classroom!

Jesus Changes Everything
Do you have any “defining moments” in your life? Some event that changed everything that came after in some way. Maybe it was a happy event like a birth or a marriage. Or perhaps it was something different like the loss of a job or the death of a loved one. Those moments tend to shape who we are and the people we become. The history of the world has many defining moments, but the single most important is the resurrection of Jesus. So, teach your students the reason it matters and how it changed everything as you walk through the books of the New Testament together.
New Testament Studies
Because even early childhood students can be drawn into God’s story when you teach them stories from the New Testament, use these New Testament sort and match games to retell the stories over and over shaping your preschoolers into disciples of Jesus. Also, middle school students can read through the whole New Testament in a year with these New Testament middle school sketch notes. Read passages, discuss important themes, draw pictures and help your students realize they are part of God’s story!
