Four New Thanksgiving Chapel Skits for Christian Schools

Do you have a favorite holiday? Mine is definitely Easter. I love everything about it, especially the joy we have in the resurrection of Jesus, but one of my sons is a Thanksgiving lover! I see where he is coming from. There are some pretty amazing traditions associated with Thanksgiving. We have an annual family football game in the grandparents backyard. There is always a turkey with two kinds of stuffing, at least five different kinds of pie, and a house full of aunts, uncles and cousins. What could be better?

Not in the Bible…Or Is It?

Thanksgiving does not have any theological roots whatsoever so the case could potentially be made that perhaps the discussion of Thanksgiving should be left to history class or literature. Let the English teacher peruse Of Plymouth Plantation with the middle school and we’ll save our lessons for something more Christian. But the subject of giving thanks is hugely important for the Christian life! It ties into Paul’s teaching on contentment or being satisfied with what God has given you. Trusting God for all good things rather than taking part in the never-ending race for more is an integral part of Christian character. Thanksgiving is a great time to practice it!

New Chapel Skits

If you’d like a Christian perspective on contentment and giving thanks, these chapel skits might be just what you are looking for. They present God’s truth in a fun and engaging way that your whole school will enjoy. There are four different skits written for four different levels so there is something for everyone. They also make great reader’s theater activities for elementary school classrooms!
