Maundy Thursday Coloring Page and So Much More

A Maundy Thursday coloring page might be what you are looking for to help your students understand this important day. What is Maundy Thursday? Maundy comes from the Latin word for mandatum which means commandment. Jesus gave his disciples a commandment to love and serve one another to remember what Jesus did for us. Jesus displayed this as he washed his disciples’ feet.

Celebrating Seder

Celebrating the Seder meal is one of my favorite memories of Maundy Thursday. As Christians, we rarely celebrate the traditions of the Old Testament as we focus on the joys that come through Jesus in the New Testament. However, it is really fascinating to understand the meal that Jesus shared with his disciples in the Upper Room.

Maundy Thursday Coloring Page and More

If you are here for a free Maundy Thursday Coloring Page, find it here. However, I have so many options to help you teach Maundy Thursday. Your students could try out a mini book or a flipbook. I love the Maundy Thursday craftivity that allows them to display their knowledge on a bulletin board display. Of course, older students need options to learn about the scripture for Maundy Thursday as well. Upper elementary students will learn more details about Maundy Thursday with an interactive lapbook. Middle school students might enjoy sketch notes. If you are looking for an easy bulletin board for your middle school classroom, the Maundy Thursday Subway Art is easy to prepare and display.
