New Days of Creation Station Ideas

We learn about the world around us through our senses. Likely you know when there are cookies in the oven because you can smell them. Painfully, we realize it’s time to clean the playroom when a Lego stabs us in the foot. The beauty of a sunset takes your breath away. So, what better way to learn about God’s creation than through stations where students can touch, manipulate and experience all that creation has to offer. Turn your classroom into an exploration station with these creation station ideas.

Think Outside the Box

When I was younger, I was given the opportunity during school to make whatever I wanted out of air-dry clay. It was a relatively new product at the time, and I was fascinated. Usually, I brought home only paper products from school. Apparently, this was going to be a day to remember. Later a terribly deformed little cow came home with me that I kept until adulthood. In summary, the lessons that are out of the ordinary tend to stick with students the most. So, try something a little different for your creation lesson this year.

Creation Station Ideas

First, bring in a tub of leaves, acorns, sticks and pinecones and allow the students to fashion a creation sculpture. Haul out the Play-Doh and let your class design an Adam or Eve the way God did. Or, set out materials to make a mobile and have students design a piece for each day of creation to dangle from the top. Additionally, you could supply them with interesting writing materials and instruct them to write a thank-you prayer to God for their favorite part of creation. But this is just a start! See what else you can come up with for your creation station today.
