The story of David and Goliath is well-known and well-loved. We all enjoy rooting for the underdog and watching the proud fall. But the story of Goliaths’ defeat is about more than just the little guy coming out on top. It is about God accomplishing his purposes despite the weakness of human nature. What an awesome lesson for students to learn!
It’s All About Trust
In which things do you place your trust? Money offers security and comfort. Family offers love and companionship. A good job tempts us with security and recognition. Too many people run after these giants of their own making, trusting in them for all good things. David’s story invites us to turn our eyes back to the true God who is able to crush giants with a sling in the hand of a shepherd boy.
