Having a good Bible story book is essential to any classroom. It’s a perfect replacement for a less than stellar lesson. It can fill in a ten-minute time gap in the schedule. Good children’s Bibles can be read over and over again and never lose their appeal. There are so many choices that it can be hard to choose a children’s Bible for your class. You don’t want something that feels outdated, but then again some of the newer Bibles can take too many liberties with the text.

Long-Lasting Lessons
When my first son was born, he was given his first Bible story book. Not surprisingly, this book has stuck around for the early years of all four of my children. And my middle schoolers will still sometimes pick it up because of the good memories they have of bedtime Bible story rituals. Obviously, they have moved on to reading the Bible for themselves but introducing them to Bible stories at an early age was a great way for them to start understanding who they are and who God is.
Great Children’s Bibles
If you are looking for a few new Bible story books to add to your collection, check out some of my favorites! Popular for good reason, this Bible story book is great for preschool. This book hits all the favorites and caters to short attention spans. Secondly, this version strays quite a bit from the original text, but the theology is sound, and it keeps the Bible as one big story rather than a set of unrelated stories. Finally, I love this Bible story book because it has discussion questions and beautiful illustrations
